Delaying the Inevitable Means More Opportunities to Help Others

As I approach my 59th birthday, things are starting to become a little more focused including, moving onto heaven.

Why do we choose to delay something that is inevitable?  Well, when answering such a heavy question, I will not have “the” answer.  Only God has “the” Answer.  Therefore, when I write the answer with the word “think” that is a fact:  I think ______.  So, I don’t get the “reading analysis” feature mad at me by starting every answer to a question with “I think…,” let’s agree that my answer begins with “I think” not “I know.”

Why do we choose to delay something that is inevitable?

Whew.  That is a question.  Isn’t it?  It depends on if the “inevitable” is positive / fun or negative / miserable.  Things that are positive / fun we enjoy.  We delay the inevitable – the end.  We don’t get to have many of those enjoyable moments and therefore delay the end.  However, a dentist appointment (disclaimer:  I HAVE THE BEST DENTIST IN THE WORLD), I will be more than happy to delay that because it is a negative / miserable time.  The pain?  Seriously.  Sure the novocaine is good, but the shot?  YIKES!  And yes, there is the numbing gel to help with the pain of the shot.

I admire cancer survivors.  I always learn from their strength and determination to get to the inevitable:  BEAT CANCER!  They teach me that the pain is worth it because the end is worth it.  They have more “work” to do before the “inevitable” (death).  They truly show me delaying the “inevitable” (death) happens because cancer survivors are here to help others beat cancer.  Of course, like all of us, cancer survivors have the choice to help others.  Let me say with much confidence, I have seen cancer survivors use their extended time to help others!

Death is the path to heaven

If for us Christians heaven is the goal, isn’t it interesting that we would choose to delay getting to that goal?  By using a CPAP machine and/or take blood pressure medicine, I am delaying the arrival to heaven.  Hmmmm… So, for me to experience something as beautiful as heaven, I delay that opportunity.  Why would I do that?

There is a reason to delay my arrival in heaven

Why would I choose to delay my arrival in heaven?  I just saw this answer on a t-shirt.  Thank you, God, for the answer.  I appreciate the answer to the question.  By using a CPAP machine, taking blood pressure, losing weight (LIKE MAY OTHERS), wear a “boot” to help ease the pain of bone spurs and arthritis, gives me more time to get more people to see how Jesus is the answer.  I got it!  Also, to get to heaven, I have more growth to achieve!

You choose to delay the inevitable – DO SOMETHING POSTIVE FOR MANY

God has me and billions of others here to support others and to “recruit.”  Since you and I have chosen to delay the inevitable (death), then let’s do good for others and do that “good” in the name of the Almighty, Jesus Christ.  Seriously.  Stop being selfish.  This coming from a man who can be as selfish as anyone else.  As you and I grow in number of years living, we will do what you can to help others grow in quality.

Many people will be more than happy to point out I fall short of the goal to help improve the quality of life.  They are entitled to their opinion.  What I know?  I wake up every morning wanting one person’s life to be better because I am part of their life.  Also, as I continue to grow older and wiser, I realize those who are looking for the positive or the negative in me, they will find it.
