Vengeance is Mine! Says The Righteous One!

December 2007 –

I was part of a meeting with the superintendent, principal, department chair, union president, and two band parents.  The meeting was about the administration misappropriating state funds.  That is enough for you to know.  For some strange reason two months later, in February 2008, I was placed on paid administrative leave.  Five weeks later, thanks to a 5-0 vote from the school board, I was immediately placed back into the classroom.  Following being placed back in the classroom, our house was vandalized and my car window was shot out.

Paul, why didn’t you sue the school district for defamation of character or harassment?  Even have the police search for the people who vandalized your home and car?  The answer will be coming soon.

October 2008 –

New school:  A band parent began to seriously harass me.  Harassing me to the point where the union wrote a cease and desist letter on my behalf.  He would continue to harass me by proxy.  Proxy?  Several times a school year, even following his son’s graduation, he would send the principal defamatory letters about me?

You (me) didn’t sue him?  You will find out way – soon.

September 2013 –

A student was misunderstood by the administration about something that allegedly happened between me and the student.  To the student’s credit, the student confronted the administration telling them they misunderstood.  That misunderstanding led to ten weeks of paid leave.  By the way, if I was so bad — bad enough to be placed on paid administrative leave — why did that student’s freshman brother join band the next year?  I guess the parents felt comfortable enough with me they had their other children take band from me as the director.

Paul, why didn’t you sue the school district, the parent who was harassing you or even the students who made the false allegation?  The answer will be coming soon.

August 2017 – December 20, 2021

I returned back to the district where I worked from 1997-2005.

  • You can not say ‘mijo’ or ‘mija’ because that is cultural appropriation.  You are a white man and saying those words makes the Hispanic students feel uncomfortable
  • You can not say “God” in the classroom because that violates ‘church and state’ and is unprofessional.
  • Accused of hating homosexuals.
  • “Keep Jesus Christ in the parking lot,” said the principal.
  • “Stop saying to the students ‘I love ya.’  That is unprofessional and frankly, a little strange.  You’re an old man.  You have gray hair.”
  • “I don’t care about your first amendment rights!  Stop using the internet!  You are triggering the students and their families.  I am saving you from you.”

Again, you might be thinking, ‘…and you still didn’t sue?’

April 29, 2024 (Three years following my resignation from district)

A district administrator said to my wife, “you know what happened (given directives / placed on probation) to Paul was all political.”  We hear this message three years after the site principal told me “keep Jesus Christ in the parking lot.”

Why did you NOT sue?  Why do you NOT sue?

If you are a ‘reader’ of my blog or you know me, you already know that JESUS CHRIST IS MY SAVIOR.  I love HIM.  Therefore, I do all I can to follow him.  And, if I am going to follow Him, I do not sue.  In fact, I would encourage you not to sue.

Read what Paul, the Apostle, writes about lawsuits.

Lawsuits Discouraged
Does any one of you, when he has a [a]complaint (civil dispute) with another [believer], dare to go to law before unrighteous men (non-believers) instead of [placing the issue] before the saints (God’s people)? [b]Do you not know that the saints (God’s people) will [one day] judge the world? If the world is to be judged by you, are you not competent [c]to try trivial (insignificant, petty) cases? Do you not know that we [believers] will judge angels? How much more then [as to] matters of this life? So if you have lawsuits dealing with matters of this life, are you appointing those as judges [to hear disputes] who are of no account in the church? I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is not one wise man among you who [is governed by integrity and] will be able and competent to decide [private disputes] between his fellow believers, but instead, brother goes to law against brother, and that before [judges who are] unbelievers?

Why, the very fact that you have lawsuits with one another is already a defeat. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded? On the contrary, it is you who wrong and defraud, and you do this even to your brothers and sisters.

Paul also wrote this:

Romans 12: 14-21 (Amplified Bible)

14 Bless those who persecute you [who cause you harm or hardship]; bless and do not curse [them]. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing others’ joy], and weep with those who weep [sharing others’ grief]. 16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty [conceited, self-important, exclusive], but associate with humble people [those with a realistic self-view]. Do not overestimate yourself. 17 Never repay anyone evil for evil. Take thought for what is right and gracious and proper in the sight of everyone. 18 If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for God’s wrath [and His judicial righteousness]; for it is written [in Scripture], Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 But if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for by doing this you will heap[e]burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome and conquered by evil, but overcome evil with good. (emphasis is me)

Walk the Walk

In sharing these stories, my hope is before you file a lawsuit, you will turn to Jesus Christ.  Our world right now (May 9, 2024) seems to be falling apart.  However, every comeback needs a setback.  He is going to return.  We will find our way with Him by our side.  There is no doubt.  Those several stories I shared with you caused pain in my life.  They still cause pain.  I have lost many friends.  Financial loss.  Just because I am a Christian does not mean I do not feel pain.  Suffering and feeling pain is part of being a Christian.  But, when I walk with Him, the pain goes away.  Take a walk with Him.

Bottom line…My life is about JESUS.  I would love people to love me, but I do not live for their love.  I live for the Savior’s love.  Eternal love.

Remember:  I am here for you and Mark 12:31  “This is the second: ‘You shall (unselfishly) love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”  Footnote:  The key to understanding this and other statements about love is to know that this love (the Greek word agape) is not so much a matter of emotion as it is of doing things for the benefit of another person, that is, having an unselfish concern for another and a willingness to seek the best for another.
